Synopsis

Shot on 16 mm film, this work emerged from an artisanal creative process at the Casa do Xisto cinema and visual arts residency. Developing the film by hand, using coffee, vitamin C and sodium carbonate, extends the act of filming and contributes to the creation of the images. The grain, textures and variations in development reveal the physical contact with the material. From exposure to light to the emergence of the image, the film explores time, waiting and the unpredictability of handmade cinema.
